'Selections: Paintings by Lillia Frantin'

Lillia is especially delighted to show her work for the first time here at CANVAS artspace and hopes you will enjoy her selection of colorful au plein aire landscapes and still-life paintings. Please join us as she shares some thoughts, experiences and insights in an informal presentation of her influences and inspirations.
There will be a Q&A and informal meet & greet after the talk, and light refreshments will be served.

Workshop: Romantic Expressionism with Lillia Frantin

Exhibiting artist Lillia Frantin will begin her special four-day workshop with a demonstration of painting from the still-life. Lillia will share the process and approach she has developed over the years that she calls "Romantic Expressionism," incorporating vivid color and expressive brush and paint handling. Using the still-life as a springboard, Lillia welcomes new and seasoned painters to the workshop who are interested in trying fresh approaches to color, drawing and composition.
The 4-day program cost is $140. Registration required.

About the Artist
Lillia Frantin received her Master’s degree from Pratt Institute in New York in 1968 and was a professor of Painting and Modern Art History for twenty years. She has exhibited professionally for over 40 years in New York City and the Hamptons, in Barcelona and Britanny, in Santa Fe, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, Palm Desert, Boston, Atlanta, Palm Beach and most recently on Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod. Her work has been featured in two museum one-woman shows and is in private collections throughout the United States, Europe and Great Britain. Over the past ten years, she and her husband, artist Herb Edwards, have conducted painting workshops in Provence, France; Ghost Ranch, Abiqui, New Mexico and in the historic artists’ colony of Provincetown, Cape Cod. Lillia is especially delighted to show her work for the first time at CANVAS ArtSpace, here in Hendersonville, and hopes you will enjoy her selection of colorful au plein aire landscapes and still-life paintings.
