The Language Of Painting
This four-week course will focus on painting as a medium for visual expression and the exploration of formal and technical concerns within the parameters of studio projects. For the intermediate to seasoned painter, we will encourage students to develop and strengthen sensitivity to shape, line, rhythm, and the plastic structures possible within the realm of painting. You will be introduced to the works and concepts of historically significant painters as they relate to your own personal artistic practice. Individual and group critiques will be emphasized in each class to help strengthen your ability to read and understand the language of painting.
Students can choose to work with oils or acrylics and are responsible for bringing their own materials.
This studio class is held every Wednesday from 10:30am to 1:00pm.
The fee is $160 for 4 classes.
