The Power of Pastel Painting
March 2, 9 am - 4 pm
In this workshop we will focus on the process of pastel painting, which is unlike other types of pigment-based painting (oil, acrylic and watercolor.) We will focus on creating bold and balanced compositions, and will learn to use color with confidence by learning different techniques for blending and layering. Each student will work on independent projects under the guidance of the instructor, towards the goal of a finished artwork!
Required Materials: Each student is asked to provide their own pastels. If you do not have pastels, Bev suggests purchasing a set of 24 - 36 Prismacolor NuPastels, sold locally at The Starving Artist in Hendersonville, and at most major Art Supply stores. We will supply the paper, and all other materials. If you have a favorite paper, feel free to bring that, too.
