In this course, we will use Photoshop Elements, a low-cost, introductory version of Photoshop, to learn how to modify images for use in artwork. After reviewing the software basics, we will practice techniques that will aid you in your painting practice. Topics will include:
- Scale: Resizing, cropping, proportion and creating gridlines
- Value: Working with light, adjusting contrast and creating tonal images
- Color: Correcting/modifying color
- Composition: Combining source material to create new imagery
